The Schreck - Ensemble has sought collaboration with the renowned koto player Makiko Goto.

In order to give this collaboration a deeper meaning, we decided to place opposite to this tradional Japanese string instrument, our own tradional string instrument: the violin. For is it not remarkable that in both music traditions resonating strings are playing and have been playing such a determining role, whether they are struck, plucked or bowed.

What makes these instruments so special? What resonates alongside these movements of the strings?

This program contains compositions that offer different ways to make contact with nature or to experience it:
- The mirroring of the wonderful Dutch skies,
- the sounds of rain and wind,
- the mythological bond with earth and wind,
- the deeper meaning of nature like expressed in the traditional haiku;
in the compositions many aspects of these are resounding.

Listen to what is resonating with these strings, picked up and amplified by the sensitive microphones and equipment of Schreck.
